Zinzino was formed in Norway in 2005 by Hilde and Orjan Sæle. Its flagship product is Balance Oil; this redresses the balance between two essential fatty acids, Omega 6 and Omega 3, neither of which are naturally in our bloodstream, but which we consume. The main source of the Omega 6 is in (ultra-) processed foods. If we have too much of this, our joints suffer from Silent Chronic Inflammation. Silent because it builds over time; Chronic because it keeps on happening unless we change our habits. Inflammation is the end result.

Zinzino has a unique way of testing the level of Imbalance in these two essential fatty acids (EFA). It’s a blood test using a pin prick on the end of a finger, dropped onto a piece of card that, once dry, partners such as myself then send to the internationally acclaimed Vitas Laboratories in Oslo, Norway. The laboratories are completely independent from Zinzino and are used by Cambridge, Oxford and numerous other universities. The results take around ten to twelve normal working days and, because each test has a unique identifying code, which is known only to the person being tested, means that the results are private and unique to the person who has been tested. A comprehensive report will recommend a number of different ways to improve the individual’s diet.
